This is getting retarded now, I'm quite afraid for my own name at this point, as it's been my online alias going on 8 years now.
We're not the only ones, the entire community is pretty pissed at this, including the chick that runs Alla, Pico or Picco (can't remember how to spell it). It's possible (maybe unlikely) we could see a fix for this within a few weeks. It would certainly show good will on their part that they are listening to the community now.
It would be a VERY simple task for them to look at how long a character has been active and say "Well gee, he/she has had that name longer than this idiot over here, he/she gets to keep the name."
Same with LS names, though those are less important.

I hate to say it, but they're not going to do anything with character names except possibly in special cases where the mule with said name was created solely for the purpose of stealing the name. Since that is the case with our LS name and I know enough details now to argue about it, I will be talking to a GM as soon as I get online to try to get our name back.

Apparently you don't know what being a troll means. And I played for 2 and a half years, and am planning on playing again, so I really don't see how that means dick, as nothing has drastically changed since I've been gone.
Not to mention that I'm still addicted to the game and this and BG are my FFXI fix, even though it's less than satisfactory.

This might sound crazy but bear with me. There's this place called "Outside" and in this place there are things like "stuff" that you can do with ppl called "friends". Now sit down for this part.. if you go to the outside place with the friends ppl and do stuff, you forget about this game especially when you can't play it.
