PS3 Controller set up for the PC. Help can I Have it?

Hello,
I am always have played FFXI on the XBox 360. I just installed FFXI to my laptop so I could play more when I'm on the road. That said I'm having a hard time controlling the game w/out a controller. I went out and found a PS3 controller that I can hook up to the laptop and FFXI but not sure how to them together. I'm sure that I need to down load a helper just not sure how/what. So any help would be awesome.

I found this to be a good guide when I was messing with mine. It's for Bluetooth or USB, but I couldn't get it to work because the drivers aren't compatible with Vista x64
